Russia’s wheat exports rises 60% to 11 mln tns in Jan–Jul

MOSCOW, Sep 7 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports rose by 60% on the year to 10.885 million tonnes in January–July, as seen by PRIME in data of the Federal Customs Service on Wednesday.

In monetary terms, exports increased by 29.82% to U.S. $1.886 billion.

Russia’s wheat exports to non-CIS countries increased 70% on the year to 10.424 million tonnes worth $1.806 billion, a 38.09% rise in monetary terms.

Wheat exports to CIS-countries decreased about 33% to 461,100 tonnes. In monetary terms, they fell around 44.5% to $79.3 million.

Russia imposed a wheat export duty on July 1, 2015, which is now measured as 50% of the price minus 6,500 rubles per tonne, but at least 10 rubles.

Russia’s wheat imports more than tripled on the year to 389,300 tonnes worth $58.5 million in January–July.
